Green Island is a beautiful tropical island with sparkling blue waters and lush rainforests. The island is one of the popular destinations on the Great Barrier Reef and it’s the only island with a rainforest!

What can I do on Green Island?

Green Island is perfect for those who love adventure, swimming, or just want to relax for the day! And it’s easy to get here from Cairns.

Snorkelling

Jump in the water and do one of the most popular activities on Green Island. Snorkelling is a great way to see underwater to view marine life and the coral.

Scuba diving

Go deeper into the water and scuba dive! This activity is great for those who want to explore further in the water and swim with marine life.

Helmet diving

Walk along the seabed and explore the underwater. Helmet diving doesn’t really require you to be a good swimmer as you’ll be walking underwater.

Glass bottom boat

The glass bottom boats are a great activity to do if you’re not keen to get in the water or you’re not a confident swimmer. The best part is you’re not going to get wet!

There are two boats to go on, one being where the bottom of the boat is glass and you’ll sit around the glass from above.

Or there is another boat which is a boat and a submarine. The semi-subs are great as you go inside a cabin that’s glass. This option makes it look like you’re in the water.

Canoeing

Canoeing is perfect to relax while slowly moving around Green Island. You might even spot some smaller fish in the water!

Chill out on the beach

Perhaps all the water activities aren’t for you. Luckily Green Island has a beautiful beach where you can relax on. Bring a book to read, dip your toes in the water, or just watch the waves slowly crash onto the shore.

Scenic helicopter ride

Go above the ground and take a quick scenic helicopter flight around Green Island. You’ll see the beauty of Green Island and the surrounding different shades of blue water.

It’s so easy to spend a day on Green Island either swimming in the waters or just relaxing on the beach. This perfect one-day tour gives you the option to go snorkelling or go on the glass bottom boat. There are also additional upgrades you can do on the day too!
