How can I go on the Kuranda Skyrail?

You can go on the Kuranda Skyrail by driving from Cairns (or where you’re located) to Kuranda where the Skyrail is. All you need to do is ensure you have booked your tickets ahead of time so you’re not left disappointed if it’s sold out.

How old is the Kuranda Skyrail?

Between 1987 and 1994 the Skyrail was being planned. There were different studies, reports, and everything else that comes along with a project like the Skyrail.

When everything was approved in 1994, they could start getting it built which then became the world’s first environmental tourism. A year later in August 1995, the iconic Kuranda Skyrail was opened to the public. It also at the time became the world’s longest gondola cableway!

Since opening, the Skyrail has gotten upgrades and improvements but it continues to be environmentally friendly.
